The Rainbow Symbolizes Shell's Covenant with its Shareholders

I saw a gas station in the city yesterday that was ready to do the big rollover: regular at $3.99! Out in the burbs where I work it's usually about $0.40 cheaper than the city due to various tax and cost of doing business factors.

I was driving home in the rain last week and the sun starting poking through, so immediately I'm searching for the rainbow. Happened to be at a red light at this angle to the Shell station when it appeared. Coincidence?

Update Today in the Tribune: Chicago has highest gas prices in U.S.

Zowie - the happy future (or the apocalypse?) brought to you by Royal Dutch Shell Petroleum, Ltd. Just goes to show that you should always have your camera on your lap.

Great rainbow! Awful gas prices! I posted an "antique" gas-price photo today.

I just wanna say that this superb picture deserves more attention than it's getting. The hard lines of the poles and wires, the intense color of the Shell sign in late afternoon sun, the metallic glint of sunshine off the back of the street sign, the very existence of a rainbow in gritty Chicago - this is a damn good piece of work.

So there.
