I've never had much of a pest problem in my garden. Is it because of the marigolds? Apparently the jury's out on their effectiveness. They look nice though.
Urban organic gardening - how commendable! I will leave the family farming chores to you and that Kansan we know. My attitude towards this is closer to Zsa Zsa Gabor's in Green Acres, "give me Fifth Avenue." Which, of course, you will be getting in just hours. Toast the great city for me.
Love the marigold, a persistent and cheerful addition. Nice shot, love the DOF and the comical smattering of dirt. I had to red your caption twice, I thought the dirt on the bricks were tell-tale signs of a pest problem. - Mitch in Minneapolis

Those marigolds just glow. My mom plants them every year too, but the rabbits come in right behind her and eat all the flowers off the stems.
And your hands get really stinky when you touch them.
I love this shot. I hope that you didn’t get too dirty!
Great light and DOF in this. That front marigold really pops!
I am happy to say that my wife is the gardener. She has done a fantastic job landscaping the front of the house and is working her way to the back.
My gardening books say they do help! And they are lovely!
